1. Acceptance of Terms
By making a booking with Ranshire Ceylon ("we", "our"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If booking on behalf of a group, you confirm that each member has also accepted these terms. These terms apply to all authentic heritage, Cultural Triangle, wildlife safari, homestay, village immersion, wellness pilgrimage, and specialty services provided by Ranshire Ceylon.
2. Booking & Confirmation
A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of the required deposit and written confirmation from Ranshire Ceylon. We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion. All itineraries are individually designed following initial consultation with Mr. H.W. Tharanga Hashan or our operations team.
- A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total tour cost is required to secure your booking.
- Full payment is due no later than 30 days before the tour start date.
- For bookings made within 30 days of departure, full payment is required immediately.
- Confirmation documents, itinerary details, and pre-arrival information will be sent to the email address provided at booking.
- Special requirements and dietary needs must be provided accurately at time of booking.
3. Payments & Pricing
All prices are quoted in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Ranshire Ceylon reserves the right to adjust prices prior to full payment in the event of significant currency fluctuations, government-imposed taxes, or fuel surcharge changes.
- Accepted payment methods: bank transfer, major credit/debit cards, and secure online payment gateways.
- Bank charges and currency conversion fees are the responsibility of the traveller.
- Quoted prices include services listed in the itinerary only; personal expenses and fees for optional extras are excluded unless specifically noted.
4. Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to info@ranshireceylon.com. The following schedule applies:
- More than 60 days before departure: Full refund less the non-refundable deposit.
- 31 – 60 days before departure: 50% refund of total tour cost.
- 15 – 30 days before departure: 25% refund of total tour cost.
- 14 days or fewer before departure: No refund applicable.
5. Changes to Bookings
Requests to change a confirmed booking — including dates, itinerary, or accommodation — must be made in writing. We will endeavour to accommodate changes subject to availability and applicable amendment fees. Ranshire Ceylon reserves the right to modify or substitute itinerary elements where necessary due to operational, safety, weather-related, or archaeological site access reasons, always maintaining equivalent quality and authentic heritage value.
6. Liability & Insurance
Ranshire Ceylon acts as organiser and coordinator for the services provided. Our liability is limited to direct losses caused by our proven negligence and shall not exceed the total tour cost paid. We are not liable for:
- Losses due to events beyond our reasonable control (see Force Majeure).
- Personal injury, illness, death, or property loss not caused by Ranshire Ceylon's negligence.
- Third-party service failures — airlines, hotels, or transport providers.
- Costs arising from failure to hold adequate travel insurance.
Comprehensive travel insurance — covering health, medical evacuation, accident, cancellation, and baggage — is a mandatory requirement for all travellers. All guests must hold valid health insurance covering medical treatment in Sri Lanka.
7. Traveller Conduct
Ranshire Ceylon expects all travellers to respect Sri Lanka's natural landscapes, cultural heritage, archaeological sites, local communities, and fellow participants. We reserve the right to remove a traveller from a tour without refund if their behaviour:
- Endangers the safety or wellbeing of others, themselves, or our guide team.
- Damages property, natural environments, or UNESCO cultural heritage sites.
- Violates Sri Lankan laws, cultural norms, or religious site protocols.
- Disrupts the authentic experience of other tour participants or wildlife viewing ethics at national parks.
8. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform any obligation where such failure results from circumstances beyond reasonable control — including natural disasters, government actions, civil unrest, pandemics, strikes, or severe weather events. Ranshire Ceylon will provide a credit note or alternative tour dates wherever possible.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on the Ranshire Ceylon website — including authentic itinerary designs, heritage methodology frameworks, photography, text, and branding — is the intellectual property of Ranshire Ceylon and Mr. H.W. Tharanga Hashan. Reproduction, adaptation, or commercial use without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.
10. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any dispute shall first be referred to good-faith mediation. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
